Elysse loves her own backyard. It’s lush and green, with giant locust trees swooping down from the sky and gorgeous flowers sprouting in the corners. But somewhere in her first year of university, she decided that there was more out there than her own backyard.
So she set out on her first trip, a solo journey to South America.
The Toronto native and journalism student is hoping to prove herself as a writer and an independent young woman (and avoid trouble) while traipsing through Argentina and Chile with her rusty Spanish skills.
Right now, she’s also hoping she doesn’t lose her passport somewhere in the foothills of the Andes or the subtropical jungles of Brazil.
Then when it’s all over she’ll come home, relax in her backyard, and daydream about her next big trip.
