These Boots Were Made For Walkin'...

We thought it was long past time we posted another installment. However, there is a reason nothing new's been written for a while - we've just been working in Sydney, doing those crappy backpacker jobs that everyone does, and didn't do any actual travel. Hence we haven't updated our 'travel'ogue! Highlights have been getting fired from a call centre for being rubbish and taking part in one of the country's biggest boardroom infights!

We've been pretty lucky on finding work - we were told before we came out here that work was really difficult to find, but in the end we worked pretty solidly up to Christmas. However, after Christmas has been a different story as January is always really quiet. We've found some agencies to be excellent, some OK, and whaddya know, some bloody awful!

We've been living in a great suburb of Sydney, Glebe, which is about 20 minutes walk from Darling Harbour and a great place for restaurants and pubs. We can highly recommend it.

However, we are finally about to start exploring! We're off to NZ for five weeks. David's been planning all the things he wants to jump off, photograph and hurtle down mountains in. Jenny's been planning how to limit the jumping and the hurtling, and is very excited to be getting out of the city. Our backpacks will be going home, since they're actually made in NZ (it would be nice, at some point, to have actually travelled further than our luggage!). We'll be travelling on the Magic Bus network on the Spirit of New Zealand Pass which takes a minimum of 23 days to complete. Everyone has said to us that you always need more time than you think in order to really experience New Zealand, so we've made sure that we've got some extra days to spend, so that we don't feel we've missed out on anything.

So we will actually be submitting episodes more regularly from now on, and maybe we'll even get some photos online. Watch this space!
