Miracle to Branson – USA

Miracle to Branson
USA

I watched in doubt and worry as my husband kept cramming things into the back of our little Kia. Not only did we have to haul two adults and three small children all the way to Branson, Missouri, on a five hour drive, but we also had too many things for that little vehicle.

The Kia was holding on by its last metal seam when my husband shoved one more lawn chair and the baby mattress in. Maybe we don’t really need that mattress, I thought, it wouldn’t kill me to sleep on the ground.

But everything went in and the hatch was closed after several tries. My husband and I both took turns checking to make sure it was securely closed.

Having moved to the city after living in the Ozarks for many years, it was an annual tradition to visit the hills during autumn. As the vehicle rounded the big bend, we noticed the beautiful fall foliage and exaggerated our leans to the left in hopes that our Kia wouldn’t go off the cliff. The scenic route was amazing and although the road had two lanes, it seemed impossible to fit two cars at the same time.

The bend was not only breathtakingly beautiful, it was also breathtakingly sharp! But vehicles would make the turn at such extreme speeds. I wondered how many accidents happened at this scenic spot.

Suddenly, the hatch of our Kia flew open and things started blowing out! The mattress, the chairs, the grill!! I could not believe what was happening for my husband was driving slowly so that we could take in the view.

Cars were still rounding the bend at a furious rate. I pictured someone going off the cliff or hitting someone else head on as they swerved to miss our grill!

There was hardly any room to pull over since the drop was so deep but my husband managed to find a small spot. Everyone must be traveling too, I thought to myself, as I watched my husband wait for car after car to fly by.

It took him several runs to pick up everything that had fallen out. Amidst the sounds of engines and the breeze of cars zipping by, he breathlessly said in complete amazement and awe, “It was as if Someone lined up everything one by one, right in the middle of the road, on the solid line so that no one would get hurt!”

It truly was a miracle to Branson that day!
