Why do people go there?: Unfortunately, Portland isn’t generally a stop in and of itself, although given that BnA has its HQ here, we think it should be. Most people hit up P-town on their way between San Fran and Seattle. Don’t worry; the famous Saturday Market, beautiful Japanese and test rose gardens, laid-back feel and easy-to-navigate-public-transportation make it worth it.

How do travelers get there?: Most take the train or bus from San Fran of Seattle – rumor has it the train it better. You can also fly, if you wish.

When to go: Summer is the best time to see the sun and explore everything PDX and its surroundings have to offer.

I am not sure who writes for you but your facts are errored and someone did not spell check..

Portland in located on the Columbia River on the Western side of the state 90 ish miles in from the ocean.
What you described here located at the northeastern side of the state is dry land and a town called Joseph.
