Kate Cypcar grew up in Eugene, Oregon. She graduated from Seattle University in Seattle, Washington in June 2004. During the spring and summer months, you will find Kate climbing, hiking, cycling, backpacking, and kayaking somewhere in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She participates on an Ultimate Frisbee city-league team in Eugene, and has also been known to play a mean defense on the soccer field from time to time. She rowed crew for two years in college. Kate loves to read, and is always looking for authors with interesting stories to tell. She writes frequently, sings loudly in her car, and wears bright colors. There is nothing Kate appreciates more than a good sense of humor. Family and good friends are what are most important to her. She prays for peace.

Kate lived in Sevilla, Spain for nine months; during which time she boarded with a Spanish host family, studied at the University of Sevilla, traveled as far throughout Europe as her money and time could take her, and absorbed a whole lot of Spanish culture. Sangria, anyone?! Kate recently returned from another venture to Europe, where she reconnected with her host family and friends in Spain, and then explored Edinburgh, Scotland. Future travel plans include: backpacking Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon, visiting friends in Thailand, and heading south to our neighbors in Mexico.

Kate’s goal is to make a career out of traveling the world over, and writing about it. She plans to apply to journalism grad school next year.
