I’m a southern girl, born and bred in the lands of Tennessee where everyone you meet either plays the guitar, drinks Jack Daniels, or goes to church. I’ve spent most of my life escaping the word “y’all”, fearing it would forever brand me as the stereotypical southerner. But it takes a strong person to escape the southern charm, and I never could quite let go of my addiction to fried chicken.

On top of the World!
On top of the World!
So living life as a proud southern girl, I spent most of my youth traveling the continental states, loving every culture from Cali, to Kansas, to Boston. When time came for college, my fantasy life proclaimed I would study somewhere exotic and new, but free tuition kept me in state at Belmont University. At Belmont I’ve studied everything from graphic design to journalism and have finally ended up with – cross your fingers – a major in English writing and a minor in European studies.

During my junior year in school, I grew antsy and decided to start my infatuation with travel abroad. Over Christmas break, I took my first trip over the pond to England and Scotland for New Years. And as it goes, I became addicted.

Now, just six months later, I am studying abroad at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. I’m going broke and nothing has ever felt more fabulous. I plan to return home in December, but plans always seem to have a funny way of falling through for me.
