Earlier today, some might refer to it as September the Third in the year 2006, I made a day trip to Porto Venere, Italy.

I had to catch the boat at the Porto Antico, old harbour, early on a Sunday. Lucky for me, the Porto Antico, is here in Genova. I bought a ticket, took my place on the boat and some photes of the region. What's unique about this place is that the mountains immediately go into the sea.

There are two churches in Porto Venere - San Pietro and San Lorenzo, also the Castello, little castle of the family Doria, somewhat involved with the B-team. A wedding was taking place when I entered San Pietro. I went back out.

Outside gypsies were making some instrumental music - nice and decent. I turned off my Walkman and gave them money.

On my way to the other church, San Lorenzo, I took a shortcut and ended up at the Castello first, where there was an exhibit. Eventually I came to San Lorenzo - that's a cathedral - beautiful surroundings large square in front, trees. I noticed my strange behavior - wetted my fingers, made the sign of the cross, lit a candle, prayed - influence of Italy, most likely.

I had ice cream, considered it lunch. On a piazza in the sun, I read a few chapters from a book about Italian neighbours, then took a tour in a small train (not worth it, but I had so much time before my boat came). On the way back, we circled more islands, made a few stops and I wrote this story.
