I'm actually from Fredonia, NY and my father (originally from Louisville, KY) got me into the Marx Bros as a kid. We heard more reference to the connection of Duck Soup and Fredonia in Europe than in our own back yard. There are people familiar with the connection, but, they are few and far between. I got funny looks when in 8th grade I dressed up as Harpo for halloween, didn't speak but honked my horn with much emphasis. Not many people got that reference. I did perform at the Opera House on many occasions, and I can guarantee you wouldn't find anything having to do with the Marx Brothers there. They did in fact perform there, though. Thank you for visiting my lovely home town. Next time, go to the Upper Crust for lunch, wonderful sandwiches and soups.
