There’s no doubt about it – Victoria is definitely a tourist town with more than 6,500 rooms to rent. From plush places to budget beds and everything in-between (a mix of 1960′s motels, chain spots and plain unvarnished hotels.)
For more accommodation info and reservations, contact Victoria Tourism’s toll-free line, 1-800-663-3883.
Plush Places
Plush places need a flush pocketbook; especially in Victoria, where prices are high for just about everything. Still, there’s that special occasion – a honeymoon, birthday or anniversary – that deserves to be celebrated in style. If you’re Bill Gates, you can afford these places every day. If not, how about once in a lifetime.

Now here’s a really unique B&B. The Brass Bell is a floating boat, named the Thalia Bee. She was built in Seattle in 1931 and is 38 feet in length. Complete with bridge, stateroom, galley, salon, and head (including handheld shower), she also boasts a coffee machine, microwave, and TV. Included in the price is breakfast at what I consider the best breakfast food for the best price in all of Victoria, Spinnaker’s Pub. See their website for further details, reservations, and directions.

Empress Hotel
A restored 1908 hotel located on Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Its location and views (from the front rooms) are its prime characteristics. It’s well known for its lobby teas very atmospheric, but astronomically expensive.
The tea lobby is worth a stroll through for a peek into the Palm Court (a room set aside for private functions) with its fantastic stained glass dome. Edward, before he was king of England, danced here. Also off the lobby is the Bengal Room for drinks or lunch. It’s got great views of the Inner Harbour.
