I can count coup for six! Surprised not to see anywhere in Germany, though. Or Chester; the only city in Britain it’s possible to make a complete circuit of the walls.

I’ve already been to four of those places and I found Rhodes the most impressive one with the knights palace and the so well preserved old town

I’m fascinated by Walled Cities. My all time fav is Sighisoara (Romania). It’s still inhabited and just…a jewel.

Thus far I have only seen one of these, Carcassonne, which was indeed very impressive. One can only imagine how awesome many other medieval cities might have looked before their walls were largely destroyed.
