First attack was successful -wallet, cards & cash. Second failed because I KNEW what was happening. A rush onto a Metro, a sudden jam just in front by the entry door and pushing from behind, wallet gone! Tavros(Piraeus) & Akropoli Metro stations - take care. Yes, you may find pickpockets in Athens just like in every big city and there are places like Omonia with starving immigrands looking for their victims. Being a tourist you must be cautious and avoid places like that. But that doesn't make Athens or Greece an unsafe place to travel... I think it’s a little biased article based on personal stories.
