I don't know many Londoners having been to the British museum unless taking some friends from abroad... it looks so diferrent if we take a day and see the place we live in through the eyes of a tourist.. Traveling abroad, as I have been lucky to do, always reenergizes me seek those unique sites regardless of their physical locality. I'm guilty of doing the same. I've been to Bucharest countless of times (at least twice each year!) and never been inside the huge "Casa Poporului" (the seat of the Parliament). When I visited both Vienna and Budapest I wasn't too shocked to realize that 90% of the persons visiting the cities were tourists and not locals. You are so right! I’m guilty of doing the same.
