Napa is a road trip for me, and I always drive. I just don't drink to excess and I don't need to see that many wineries in one day. Visit one, have lunch, visit another, have a coffee or hang out somewhere awhile, then you're done. We often do picnics there. There are spots as mentioned in and around the wineries, or you can take a drive east to the lake. By the way, November, although rainy, is a lovely time to visit Napa with the fall leaves on the grapevines.

Excellent pointers and money saving tips here! The only one I differ on is the bike riding - we tried this and were miserable once we'd had a few wine tastings - let's face it, wine is a depressant and it can make you feel tired. Not so great when you're on a bike! If you just spit when you taste, though, biking is a great idea.
