You missed one of the best. There are so many “best” in Greece, the only way to see them all is to see them all.

We spent one month, and that was not enough.

These kind of lists always leave out more than they include, but it was interesting to have three cities from the Cyclades?
What about Nafplion, a pretty Venetian city on the Peloponnese? Or Thessaloniki, a former European city of culture? Or Delphi, which is small but scenic and of course as historic as it gets?
It seems like this list could be a bit more comprehensive.

A perfectly timed article. I plan on being in Greece by the end of this month. My itinerary included some Greek islands, and of course Athens, I will have to rethink things now…

An article is definetely not enough even for the must see places in Greece. Mykonos and Santorini are first on the list as unique in the world islands, not to mention Athens, even for a day in the Parthenon and the acropolis museum. Crete is not a city but a big island and can take at least a week to visit, start with Chania there… Thessaloniki worths also a visit and I could go on and on, depending on the preference for culture, archaeologiacal sites, beaches….
