The first round of games in the Indie Travel Takedown is over, and just like the NCAA tournament, upsets made the big headlines.
#1 seed Italy is out as is the #2 seed in Europe, Spain. Powerhouses Brazil and the US have been eliminated in the Americas region, while India and Australia barely held on in the Asia/Oceania region. Things went mostly as planned in the Africa/Middle East region, with only a minor upset of #6 seed Tunisia.
Now it’s time for the second round of voting in the Indie Travel Takedown tournament! Here are the match-ups for the second round – simply click on the “Rate It” button on each flag to give your Indie Travel Rating to your pick for the best country for indie travel in each match-up. The country with the highest indie travel rating in every pair at the end of the round moves on.

Adam Seper replied at 2012-03-21T13:12:01+0000: Hi Loz, glad you like the idea. Just to let you know, the seeding was based on a Facebook poll we had with our readers a few weeks back before setting the field of 64. I was also surprised at some of the results, but the people spoke! The Sweet 16 came out today, and we'd love if you participated!
