You seem to add alot more drama to the whole thing, plus you make up things, for example like an exit tax in Costa Rica? this does not exist at land crossings. Also the longest wait I ever had was maybe 30 minutes. Usually you can get thru both borders in an hour or less. Also there is not awhole lot of poverty in Costa Rica. You seem to make up alot of fiction to make you travels sound more exciting-give it a rest! I have done this border crossing at least 10 times since I live in Costa Rica.
