If you are going to visit Merida it´s a good place where you can stay. I also would like to recommend the new mexican low cost arline named VivaAerobus www.vivaaerobus.com here you can find a lot of promotions for traveling around Mexico, it has a cheap flights and you could enjoy your trip! It has a rooftop pool, and an ok restaurant, with good lime soup, as I remember. It was better than the Hotel Gran, next door in the middle of the zocalo, which was our first hotel.
