I just visited last month and there's a grand canal and giant boats shaped incerdibly like gondolas, just much, much bigger. I watch Potugal/Sweeden match in Avieso with the most sedate crowd of Portugese ever! Stand up job old chap! (hehe)

I didn't ever realise there were so many. Fake really is the operative word here. There is only one Venice, period. I find it sad that instead of selling themselves on their own identity so many cities are cashing in on the Venice brand-name.
