A New Home in London for the Ol’ Bard – Shakespeare’s Globe The Shakespeare's Globe theatre is a faithful reconstruction, at London's Bankside, of the original Globe Theatre in which William Shakespeare previewed and performed in some of his greatest works during the late 16th century. Australian actor Chris Herden looks at the new theatre's cultural significance as a performance space and learning centre, how the reconstruction came about through the determination of American actor Sam Wannamaker and interviews marketing director Andrew MacNair.
