Editor Rating: 3-Taiwain can be extremely cheap for the budget traveler. Backpackers can get by in Taiwan for about $15-20USD per day, and if you are an outdoorsman who has a tent and/or camping equipment, you can camp in the mountains or on the beach, usually for free.
Indie Travel Scale
Editor Rating: 6-Taipei may not get the same play as other large Asian cities, but it would be a shame to skip over this wonderful city. There's plenty of chances to have an indie travel experience in Taipei.
