Chris Card Fuller

Chris Card Fuller Favorite Boots: My favorite boots are an old leather pair that belonged to my Dad. I have big feet for a woman. I wore them on my first trip to the Maroon Bells in Aspen, Colorado in 1973 when I was seventeen. Now, I'm older - but the boots still fit.

I'm not necessarily a fatalist, but for some of us, travel seems to be pre-ordained. Aspen, Colorado was my first trip. I had just graduated from high school in Rochester, New York. The following year, I camped out at the Sheridan Hotel in Telluride when it was still a dump. Ken Chase taught a group of us Tai Chi in the old Telluride schoolhouse. 'Smoothies' had just become popular in Aspen.

I tried to find a REAL JOB in New York City in the 1980s.

My boss, a writer's agent, suggested it was due time for me to buckle down - then I met my husband, Chris, who had 'buckled down' for twenty plus years in the corporate world and was ready to get unbuckled. We've been traveling ever since.

I've lived in several cities and towns: Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, Rochester, NY., Berkeley, Santa Cruz, Telluride, Aspen, New York and Paris. Cities are the best universities - my most valued diploma was awarded to me in kindergarten - a Bachelor of Rhymes. I've tried all kinds of jobs and several universities - but nothing beats writing.
