David Hackett

David was born in Sydney, Australia over a quarter of a century ago. When he's not travelling, he resides in the sunny capital of Canberra. He is an Accountant who lives by the belief that the more boring the occupation, the more interesting the person!

At the tender young age of six, Dave's parents grabbed him, his sisters and grandma, cleaned out the bank account, packed a battered old brown suitcase and gallivanted around Europe for 4 months. Later on, he found that he had been inflicted with the travel bug. It never went away. He has travelled at every available opportunity since.

Dave has lived for periods of time in United Kingdom and Canada, and travelled throughout Europe, North America and Asia. He has discovered that the world is positively full of wacky characters, strange happenings and misadventure. He believes that the real value of travel lies not in the scenery or souvenirs but the people you meet. Some people and experiences just cry out to be written about, which is what he endeavours to do.

Dave's year ahead includes working and playing in England, travels through Ireland, Turkey, Greece, Canada and the USA.
