North-south Lake Campground
North-South Lake Campground is located at the eastern edge of the Catskill Escarpment in the Catskill Forest Preserve. It is the biggest and most popular state campground in the Catskill Forest Preserve, offering extraordinary scenic beauty, and historical sites, such as: Alligator Rock, Kaaterskill Falls, and the former site of the Catskill Mountain House. In addition to the scenic lakes located within the campground, the surrounding mountains contain numerous hiking trails leading to spectacular overlooks, waterfalls and historic sights. On a clear day, five states are visible from some overlooks. The park contains heavily wooded sites with tables and fireplaces. There are two swimming beaches and two picnic pavilions available for day use. An interpretive/recreation program with guest speakers, concerts, interpretive programs and campfires is offered in July and August. There is a Junior Naturalist Program that allows younger campers to earn a patch by completing several environmental education modules. We now have pull through sites #163, 167.Services
