NASCAR is a yearly event that occurs the second weekend in August, five miles from the park. The campground is very busy during this time.

From the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) take (exit 42) Route 14 South to Watkins Glen. Make a right onto Rt 329 at 4th traffic light. From Route 17 (aka I-86) use Route 14 (exit 52) north to Watkins Glen, make a left at the 3rd light onto Rt 329. From Route 17 (aka I-86) at Corning use route 414 north to Watkins Glen, make a left onto 14 and left at next light onto Rt 329. Watkins Glen use route 329 to campground.
