Robberies on Overnight Trains
There have been robberies on night trains--including instances where people are gassed and everything is stolen while they "sleep." Try to avoid night trains in the following combinations if you can: Prague-Budapest, Berlin-Warsaw, Prague-Warsaw, and Prague-Krakow. If you must take an overnight train, be sure to lock your compartment, lock your belongings to whatever you can, keep all your valuables in your money belt or in your pockets, and tell your couchette compartment roommates your worries if you share the same languages.
