And remember: Scotland is a separate nation from England; an easy way to irritate Scottish people is to call them English. England is part of Great Britain, or the United Kingdom, not the same thing.
Accommodation
It's hard to top the Lonely Planet's information, but the Tourist Information are always worth a try.
Haggis backpackers are worth looking into for cheap accommodation and transport.
Money
We use Pounds Sterling (£) because we are part of Great Britain, but our notes look very different from English ones.

A little about me
I'm a student at Glasgow University, hence the Glasgow -orientated view.
