Why stay in Helsinki?
Finland's capital city of Helsinki is an international and cosmopolitan delight, although it may lack the typical "sights" you might be used to in other European cities. Still, Helsinki is blessed by its proximity to the water and the nearby islands offer lots of interesting things to do. In the city itself, there are churches, museums and parks which visitors can enjoy in any weather. If it is cold out, a sauna will warm you right up.
Getting around Helsinki is absolutely a breeze, from the fantastic tram network to the metro, bus, train and ferry systems, so getting from your hostel to anything you want to see and do in the city will be easy.
