Long Trips
Peter Ferguson - I have travelled extensively, business and pleasure, into SE Asia for +20 years, mostly budget travel. I've been to the Philippines over 50 times, Thailand over 60-70 times, Vietnam a few times.
Phil Otley - I completed an overland trip by Citroen 2CV by shipping to Oz, driving round the outback for 6 months, shipping to Malaysia, then India and in Pakistan, including driving to the Chinese border on the Karakorum Highway, then back to UK via Iran and Turkey.
Kim - I have visited South east Asia three times now. Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar were the countries I visited. My favorite was definitely Vietnam.
Bill Gormley - I base myself, for six months of the year (usually) out of Cambodia these days and am very familiar with Phnom Penh, Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) and Sihanoukville. I've also recently done a couple of extensive trips into northern Laos and NW Thailand. Also Nepal a couple of years ago. I've spent a few months on differnt trips in Indonesia and Malaysia too. Cheap room, fish and rice and plenty of cold beer. And I travel alone. If you need help just ask, glad to do it.
Roy Batty - I'm just about to embark on a 10 week trip. I'm spending two weeks in Sumatra (going overland from Singapore to Penang, catch ferry to Medan). Then a train ride to stay with friends in Bangkok. I then catch a flight to Myanmar for two weeks more fun overlanding. Then fly back to Bangkok, catch the train to the southern Laos crossing. Go north, have a little explore around this little gem and then it's another land border crossing and a warm welcome back to Vietnam.
Azerbaijan
Anne O'Leary - Azerbaijan is a country in the Caucasus region of the former Soviet Union. It has borders with Iran, Armenia, Georgia and the Caspian Sea. It has been largely ignored by travellers, although it has a significant number of ex-pat residents working in the oil industry.
