Cuba
Erin Malone - I went on a month long academic trip to Cuba May-June 2003. I can provide practical info on travel to Cuba (exchange rates, lodging suggestions, where to eat, how to get around etc.) and I can also provide some insight on the culture. Cuba is an incredible place and island of contradications.
Sudah Yehuda Kadar Shaheb - Baracoa in the province of Guantanamo in Cuba. I can also help with general questions about Cuba.
Uwe Schaper - I have spent 15 weeks in the last 2 years in Cuba. I have visited many cities and know many addresses of private rooms, restaurants. Every day I chat with some Cuban friends. Please ask me if it's your first time to "la isla grande".
Dave Anderson - Santiago de Cuba is NOT overrated if you appreciate great music and art. Baracoa is indeed unique. I really kinda hate to send people there, 'cause I'm afraid we'll spoil it. Perhaps I can help encourage others to support mutual friendship, rather than gawky tourism.
Caribbean
Anthony Smith Rodríguez - Puerto Rico - 100 by 35 mile island in the Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic, and west of the U.S. Virgin Islands. It's an archipielago composed of the big island and three smaller islands which can be reached by ferries or private boats. There are also innumerable cays readily accessible. The Island has ecosystems as diverse as tropical rainforest, dry shrub forest, and a limestone Karst region which if full of caves, caverns and underground river systems. There are plenty of bars, a good light local beer and a beautiful old Spanish city with very good nightlife and lots of great people.
Vincent Moore - U.S. Virgin Islands - I lived on the island of St. Croix for three years. I had to know the ins and outs of the territory as part of my job. I also travelled to San Juan, Puerto Rico a few times for quick vacations.
Steve Hoffman - Netherlands Antilles - My Caribbean expertise is Curacao, I know the island very well. Try me for other Dutch provinces, too (Aruba, Bonaire, St Maarten, Saba, St Eustatius). I also have limited experience with Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Guadeloupe, Grenada, St Lucia.
Barbara Crowley - Trinidad and Tobago - We've been to Tobago three times, the first a quick stop for 3 days in Crown Point, then for a week in Charlotteville, and most recently for almost two months in Charlotteville, Castara, and Crown Point.
Gustavo Garcia - Puerto Rico is the smallest of the Greater Antilles. I have lived here for 30 years now. I'm pretty well versed in its history and its most popular destinations.
Elda Acevedo - If you are traveling to Puerto Rico and would like to know about great beaches, historical places to visit, caverns and nightlife... let me know, and I'll try to help!
José Rosado - I am a native Puerto Rican and I have traveled extensively in PR. If you have questions about PR, you can email me.
Mary Brigham - I have spent time in the Dominican Republic a few years ago and July '03. During my visit I went horsebackriding, whitewater rafting, sailing/snorkeling, downhill cycling, shopping, and stayed at three properties in the north beach area. I have also lived in Belize.
Will Pierson - I have lived and sailed and surfed most of the lesser Antilles (Caribbean Sea). I have advice on the Caribbean.
Irene LeHoullier - I have been hanging my hat on the beautiful island of St John for over 20 years, I have sailed down the island chain a number of times and can probably help with any iquiries concerning the Islands, especially the US Virgin Islands.
Monica Rowe - Bermuda is very small. Ask me questions about all areas!
Shaun Brogan - I lived and worked in Freeport, The Bahamas for 2 years. Any questions, let me know and I will try my best to answer.
Carolle Guy - The north coast of the
Dominican Republic. I am French but speak German, Spanish and English. I live in Sosua next to Puerto Plata and am able to advise (hotels, excursions, cities...) people who may want to come here.
Sallie Johnson - I spend 3 weeks every year in St Croix, Virgin Islands and know it very well. Would be pleased to share information with anyone who's looking.
Janina Kuefner - I've been living in Cabarete on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic for the last four years. If you want to know anything from hotels and restaurants to adventure tours, I'd be happy to help you find the secrets of our beautiful island.
Robert - I have been living and working in the Dominican Republic since 1996. Anyone looking for any sort of information (travel, business, odd stuff), I'm here to help you out.
Michele Steele - Having lived in Fort-de-France, the capital city of Martinique, I consider myself well-qualified to answer other travelers' questions. I've trekked, hitchhiked (just once), railed, driven, kayaked and scuba-ed through and know what I liked and what I'll skip next time.
Alex Newton - I live in Port-au-Prince and have travelled a good deal around Haiti, plus I know Peace Corps volunteers around the country - they are excellent sources of information. Few people are travelling to Haiti these days, which may actually be a good reason to come here as you won't see other tourists and the chances are better that people will be more interested in you than otherwise. There are cheap places ($10-15/night) everywhere to stay, and security is not so bad outside the capital city.
Martina Christianus - I can answer questions about Freeport, Grand Bahama Island.
Ron Gitt - As author of the Budget Caribbean Guide, my specialty is beach areas you can stay at, for under $25 U.S. a day. My favorite is The Dominican Republic, of which I have visited at least 7-8 times. I have traveled to over 25 differnt islands and over 100 different locations in the Caribbean, from The U.S. & British Virgins in the North to the coasts of Colombia & Venezuela in the South, and from Greneda in the East to Belize, Costa Rica and Panama in the Western Caribbean.
Mia McCroskey - I have spent nine weeks sailing bareboat charters in the Eastern Caribbean over the last 10 years. I am most familiar with the BVI (1991, 1995), St. Lucia (1994, 1996), St. Martin (1993, 1997), St. Barts (1993, 1997), Anguilla (1993, 1997), and, most recently, Antigua (2000). I can also offer advice about Grenada (1992), St. Vincent (1996), and the Grenadines (1992, 1996), and Guadaloupe (1990). I'm biased toward non-tour, non-resort travel, so if you'll be on a cruise ship or staying at Sandals, you may not want my opinion!
Nanette Saylor - I may be able to answer some general questions about the Caribbean (Antigua to Grenada, and Bahamas) and can definitely help anyone looking for info on Aruba.
Marthe Fjellheim - Ask me about the Leeward Islands, ports of Dominican Rep. and Cuba, Faial and Sao Miguel in the Azores.
Richard Bucknor - I am Jamaican and I have a few ideas about enjoying the island.
Carole-Anne Chiasson - I have been to Bermuda...it's a small island and I toured it for three weeks.
