Jana Darling - I have lived all over Texas and am familiar with Dallas as well as San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Corpus Christi, Galveston and a vast amount of the small towns in between. I'd be happy to share information with anyone heading this way!
Joan Lyons - Austin calls itself the "Live Music Capital of
the World". That may be an overstatement...but it's easy to hear a great band almost any night of the week. If you're making a musical pilgramage to Austin, I can help you find what you're looking for--from honky tonks to rock 'n' roll clubs. Good BBQ and Mexican restaurants too.
Kym Rusch - I have been living in the hip and cool
city of Austin for about 6 years now. I have inside knowledge about the music scene, hiking and tips on Austin if you are on a budget. I would love to help!
Red Plana-Alcuaz - I live in McAllen, in the south of Texas. I'm into quality bargain souvenirs. If you have any questions (especially about airfare, getting around & shopping), feel free to ask me.
Eric Bayne - Fort Worth, Texas is my second home town. It is a much better example of the "real" Texas than Dallas, Houston or Austin, but it isn't as tourist-friendly as it could be (though they are trying much harder these days.) I live in Del Rio, Texas, now. Its a border town with some fairly outrageous nightlife across the river in Ciudad Acuna. We also have some of the best paleolithic cave art in the world.
Sandra - I have lived in Texas all of my life, on and off. If there's anything you want to know, just ask.
J Anders - Texas...it's a whole other country. And, in my mind, the capital is Austin. I have lived here for 13 years, attended the University and have a good grasp of the City. I am young, yet professional, and can provide you with some great tips on what and what not to do.
Marie Plank - I have been in Houston for 30 years and know it well. In the last 2 years, I have been making road trips in a 200 mile range to small Texas towns. So, I know quite a bit about Orange, Texas; Beaumont, Texas; Galveston, Texas.
Julian Gonzalez - I was born in Corpus Christi, attended university in College Station, and have called Austin my "long-lost home" since 1997. I am very active in the community, volunteering for almost every music, art, cultural, and humanitarian event that fills up the Keep Austin Weird calendar.
Katherine Zeis - Houston is a great city. There's cheap shopping on Harwin, stylish shopping in the Galleria, movies & dinner at the Marq*E, movies & a show at the Angelika, free museums and cheap shows near Montrose, and tons of great places to eat in Chinatown and our version of Little India.
Linda Karstedt - Ask me about Houston and the surrounding Gulf Coast area as I have lived here many years. I can offer insights into Houston's weather, traffic & freeways, airports, cultural activities, restaurants, hotels & shoppping.
