- You guys are some massive company straight out of Dilbert, right?
On the contrary. Official BootsnAll "staff" is less than 20 people. Don't get us wrong though, we love Dilbert: it reminds us of the importance of common sense, good and open communication, and keeping things simple and straightforward. Oh, and karma we've got a big thing about karma. If you'd like to learn more about us and BootsnAll, click here.

Nope.

- I don't live in Portland, Oregon. Is it still possible to intern with BootsnAll?
It is. We work on a purely remote basis with all BootsnAll writers, and can do so with our journalism interns while still providing an amazing experience that will help you grow as a professional. Even with our interns here in Portland, we work primarily on a remote basis. Students from Montana to Mongolia are welcome to apply and work with us.

- My advisor/professor has questions about the internship. Can they contact you?

- Why does BootsnAll employ interns?
Because we like "win-win" situations. We started our internship program in 2001 because we knew that our environment could be a good match for people looking to get some practical, hands-on experience. Students get their hands dirty and have some good stuff to add to resumes; BootsnAll, in turn, adds content to its site and also gets a lot of work done on important projects and developments in the company.

- Be honest: how much busywork will I be doing?
Honestly? None. We are aware that some organizations bring in interns because they don't want to pay a temp to do the filing, copy room reorganization, paper clip counting, etc. (We don't have a copy room, and at last count we had 297½ paper clips.) We believe that internships should help students gain experience that will truly benefit themselves and their future employers. At BootsnAll you will do real work that will keep you busy, not busywork that hardly seems real.

It depends on the internship. Some positions require you to work here, but with others (such as writing internships) being in the office isn't necessary at all.

- Is it possible to renew an internship or do other internships at BootsnAll?
Usually. If we've worked well together and feel that there are more ways we can, then hey, there's no point stopping. As your internship nears its end, we are always open to talking about other possibilities. As we work together, it is also possible to create custom internships. If you are really learning from the experience and we are finding you a hard worker who does good work, the door is always open for more opportunities.
