Yangon (Rangoon) travel tips
Although no longer the capital of Myanmar (it was changed to Naypyidaw in April of 2006), most tourists still pay a visit to Yangon.
Myanma Airways is the national flag carrier and has a hub at Yangon’s airport. Myanmar Airways International is the international flag carrier which also has a hub at Yangon’s airport. The city is also served by important carriers such as Qatar Airways, Air China and Singapore Airlines, but also handles quite a lot of low cost carriers, too, such as Jetstar Asia Airways and AirAsia.
The 300-foot gold stupa Shwedagon Paya is a must-see and important pilgrim site. Other religious sites, as well as gardens and some museums are also of interest for the travelers.
