The fact that it's illegal for US citizens to visit the country makes finding discount airfare into Cuba very difficult. The limited service to the country due to a ban from by far the largest travel market in the area makes airfare usually high for the Canadians, Mexican, and Europeans who can fly in legally.
The main airport is Jose Martà International Airport (code: HAV) outside Havana and it can be reached directly from several Canadian cities, Cancun, London, Paris, and Madrid in addition to a few other places. The cheapest flights can usually be found from Cancun, but again, the fact that it's illegal for Americans to do this severely limits demand and helps to keep airfare on the high side.
Europeans, as mentioned, can fly in from several of their large capitals, but discount airfare can be difficult to find.
