This small island in the Dutch Antilles is popular with tourists so it’s usually not too difficult to get discount airfare into Curacao. The main airport is Hato International Airport (code: CUR), which is located in Plaza Margareth Abraham, not far from the capital of Willemstad.

Which airlines have flights to Curacao?

As is true in most of the Caribbean, American Airlines tends to dominate these routes. They have many flights daily from their Miami hub to Curacao, so this is usually your best bet for discount airfare. You can often book through other airlines to Miami and then fly from there to Curacao, but the cheapest airfare is usually on American the whole way. Continental has a few flights to Curacao from their Houston hub, but they usually don’t offer cheap airfare.

Europeans can fly directly from Amsterdam to Curacao on KLM, but curiously the lowest airfare is often on flights from Europe to Miami and then to Curacao on the frequent American Airlines flights.

Saving money on your flight to Curacao

Since American Airlines dominates this market you usually do best by going with them. The weeks around Christmas and New Years are peak season, so if you want to visit during that time you should book well in advance.

Weekend flights tend to fill up earliest, so if you have some flexibility you can usually find lower airfare on flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Flying early in December and in April can also lead to lower airfares than the peak period of January through March.
