Airfare to Guadeloupe
This small nation isn’t a popular destination for North Americans, so it can be difficult to find discount airfare to Guadeloupe. It’s more on the map for Europeans, and particularly from France it can have decent airfare. The main airport is the Pointe-a-Pitre International Airport (code: PTP) in Pointe-a-Pitre.
Which airlines have flights to Guadeloupe?
The only major US carrier with daily service to Guadeloupe is American Airlines. They have regular flights on their American Eagle commuter subsidiary through Puerto Rico, which has direct flights from most major US airports, so at least it’s usually only a one-stop journey to get to the country. Delta has weekly flights through Atlanta, so you can check them as well.
Air Canada has flights from Montreal, and Air France has frequent flights from Paris in addition to flights from other local Caribbean islands. There are also quite a few smaller local airlines doing short flights around the region, but those don’t usually help you get lower airfare from outside of the area.
Saving money on your flight to Guadeloupe
The entire region has its peak season during the weeks around Christmas and New Years, so if you plan on coming then it’s best to book way in advance. Early December and April are also usually easier to find cheap airfare in than during the high-season months of January through March. Some airlines only fly on weekends, but if you can fly midweek you can usually get lower airfare on American Airlines, especially if you are planning on going without much notice.
