Airfare to Jujuy, Argentina
San Salvador de Jujuy (commonly known as “Jujuy” and locally as “San Salvador”… confused yet?) is located in northwest Argentina, at the southern end of the Humahuaca Canyon.
Close to the city there are some interesting tourist destinations: Tilcara – known for the dramatic mountain landscapes, rich aboriginal traditions and Pucará de Tilcara (ruins of pre-Inca pucara)- , Humahuaca – known for its location at the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a long valley east of the central Andean Altiplano – and Calilegua National Park.
The city is served by Gobernador Horacio Guzmán International Airport (JUJ) which is located 33 km southeast of the city center. Aerolíneas Argentinas and Andes Líneas Aéreas offer flights to Jujuy.
The easiest way to get here is by plane via Buenos Aires. The flight time is little over 2 hours and the tickets are affordable ($388 round trip). If you fly out of the US it’s cheaper to choose LAX as your departure airport rather than New York. There are quite a lot of airlines to choose from as well: Continental, Taca Intl Air¸ Delta, or United. If you fly out of Europe, London is a good choice thanks to the many airlines serving the city.
In order to save some money, make sure to book your ticket ahead of time. Also try to avoid the peak travel days. Keep your eyes on the airlines’ special offers and try to plan your vacation around them.
