Airfare to Mendoza, Argentina
Mendoza is a city in Western Argentina and is the center of the Argentine wine industry. It is located in the desert Cuyo region, near the Aconcagua mountains.
Summers here are very dry and hot because of the city’s location. January is the hottest month with temperatures easily reaching 40°C. If you want to escape the heat, just head to the near-by mountains where the temperatures are lower. During winter, Mendoza is a hub for those who want to ski at the nearby ski resorts.
Mendoza is served by a small airport, El Plumerillo (MDZ) which receives flights from Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile. Aerolineas Argentinas offers flights from Buenos Aires (from $313RT) while LAN Airlines offers flights from Santiago de Chile (from $82RT).
It is much cheaper to fly into Santiago de Chile and then into Mendoza than to choose the route via Buenos Aires. If you depart from New York, you can choose from several airlines to get to Santiago de Chile, including: Taca Intl Air (cheapest) and LAN Airlines; while if you fly from Europe (i.e. London) Iberia offers the cheapest flights. Also, to save more, make sure to book your ticket in advance and avoid flying during the weekends.
