Airfare to San Martin de los Andes, Argentina
San Martín de los Andes is a village in Argentina, located at the foot of the Andes, just near Lacar Lake. It’s very close to the border with Chile (45 km).
San Martín de los Andes is very popular for tourism both in the winter and in the summer. It offers direct access to Lanin National Park which boasts some of the most beautiful sceneries in Patagonia. During the summer, a host of activities can be practiced here including: mountain biking, trekking, kayaking, rafting and horse riding. During winter, skiing and snowboarding attract tourists to Chapelco ski center.
The village is served by Aviador Carlos Campos Airport (CPC). Built in 1981, it operates between noon and 9 p.m. local time. Aerolíneas Argentinas and LADE offer flights to Buenos Aires, Esquel, Bariloche, Neuquén and Comodoro Rivadavia.
Unfortunately it is impossible to book online any tickets into San Martin de los Andes. Your best bet is to book the flight into Buenos Aires and then book the domestic flight directly at the airport.
If you need to fly to Buenos Aires from the US (i.e. New York) there are several airlines you can choose from, including: Copa Airlines, Taca Intl Air, LAN Argentina and American Airlines. And if you fly from Europe (i.e. London) you can choose Iberia.
In order to save some money, make sure to book your ticket ahead of time and avoid the peak travel season. It’s also a good idea to avoid the busiest travel days (typically weekends) and check various routes into the city you need to get to.
