Airfare to Campinas, Brazil
Campinas is the third largest city in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo. Those who like the urban environment and what it has to offer, will be pleased with spending time in Campinas. A lot of parks and shopping opportunities will keep anyone busy at least for couple of days.
The city is served by Viracopos/Campinas International Airport (CPQ). The airport is located 20 km from the Campinas city center and about 100 km from Sao Paulo. It is the hub for Azul Brazilian Airlines. Starting this summer TAP Portugal will fly directly from Lisbon into Campinas.
When planning to travel to Campinas it’s a good idea to fly into Guarulhos Airport (GRU) which is the largest airport serving Sao Paulo and the one which gets the international flights from USA, Asia or Europe. There aren’t flights from Sao Paulo into Campinas, but there are flights into Campinas from Rio de Janeiro ($350 round trip) and Brasilia ($418 round trip) offered by Gol Linhas Aereas.
The cheapest way to get here though is via Sao Paulo. Once you get to the capital of the state, you can get on a bus for the last leg of the trip.
Make sure to book your flight in advance and try to avoid flying during the weekends and major Catholic holidays.
