Airfare to Iguassu Falls, Brazil

Include Hotels for the Best Deals

Iguassu Falls (or Iguacu Falls) are waterfall of the Iguazu River, located on the border of the Brazilian state of Parana and the Argentine province of Misione. Access to the falls is done via one of the cities located close by. The closest city from the Brazilian side is Foz do Iguaçu, while if you want to come from Argentina, the closest city is Puerto Iguazu. Ciudad del Este in Paraguay is just across the bridge from Brazil.

A very good idea is to fly into Foz do Iguaçu International Airport (IGU) located very close to the city with the same name. It receives direct flights from Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Santiago de Chile, just to name some of the cities. The airlines serving the city include Gol Airlines, TAM Linhas Aereas, TRIP and Pluna.

It is cheap and easy to get to Iguassu Falls via Sao Paulo. TAM Linhas Aereas offers direct flights (for $170 round trip). It is not too expensive to fly from Rio de Janeiro either ($261 round trip on TAM Linhas Aereas). The choice depends on whether it’s cheaper to get to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro based on the city you fly out of.

For example if you fly out of New York it is slightly cheaper to fly into Rio de Janeiro than into Sao Paulo. The cheapest airline is Copa Airlines but you can also choose Avianca Aerovias, United and US Airways. While if you want to fly out of London, you should choose to land in Sao Paulo ($753 round trip). The cheapest airline is Iberia and you can also fly on KLM.

To save money, make sure to book your flight in advance and avoid flying during the weekends. Also, if you saved some points/miles, make sure to ask your airline whether you can get any discounts or other benefits.
