Airfare to Macapa, Brazil
Macapa is the capital of the state of Amapá in Brazil, located on the largest arm of the Amazon Delta. It lies exactly on the Equator and is home to the monument known as Marco Zero.
The town can be reached only by boat or plane. The airport is served by the following airlines: Gol Linhas Aereas, Puma Air and TAM Linhas Aereas. They offer flights from Belem, Brasilia, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
It is cheap and easy to fly into Brasilia first and then take a local flight into Macapa. Rates start at $290 (round trip). Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo are located far from Macapa and you’ll be making two stops along the way and the airfare is expensive as well.
Flying from the United States to Brazil is not a cheap adventure, but with a bit of planning you can save some money. There are quite a lot of airlines flying into Brasilia, including TAM Linhas Aereas, Air Canada, United and LAN Airlines. Make sure to check their special offers often. Also, plan to fly during the weekdays and book your flight in advance.
If you fly from Europe, you can choose among several airlines, including: TAP Portugal, TAM Linhas Aereas and Air France. The rates are similar regardless if you fly from London or Paris. To save some money, make sure to avoid the peak travel days and check the airlines’ special offers as well.
