Airfare to Maceio, Brazil
Maceio is located between Mundaú Lake and the Atlantic Ocean and is the capital and the largest city of the coastal state Alagoas, Brazil. The city stands out thanks to its beauty: the green sea, mangroves and palm trees create a beautiful tropical landscape. The city initially thrived on the sugar, tobacco, coconut, leather and spices industries. Today, the culture, arts, crafts and customs attract many tourists.
The best time to visit the city depends on your preference as the weather is hot and humid year-round. However, many tourists prefer to visit the city when it’s not that hot (May to September) but, on the other hand, it rains daily. Summer falls between December and March and the temperatures are very hot.
The city is served by quite a large airport which receives flights from all major Brazilian cities. TAM Linhas Aereas and Gol Linhas Aereas fly from Brasilia, Recife and Sao Paulo. The rates are comparable regardless of where you fly from and you’ll pay less than $400 for a round trip flight.
If you fly from the United States (New York), you can book your flight directly into Maceio (but you’ll be making a stop along the way). TAM offers the cheapest flights on the route, but United Airlines also flies between the two cities. If you fly from Europe (London, UK) TAP Portugal offers some of the best rates.
If you want to save some money, look for alternative airports and choose the best combination to suit your budget. However, you’ll find that flying via Brasilia will offer the best rate. Avoid flying over the weekends and book your fight in advance.
