Airfare to Teresina, Brazil
Teresina is the capital of the State of Piaui, Brazil and is known as one of the hottest cities in the country. It is also sleepy and unpretentious. It’s located inland, in the northeastern region of the country, between the Parnaíba and Poti rivers.
There are quite a lot of interesting old buildings to check out and to relax you can plan a day at Potycabana Park, a water park located in town. From June to November, you can check out the river beaches.
The city is served by an airport which receives flights from all over the country. Gol Airlines flies from Brasilia, Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, while TAM flies from Brasília and Fortaleza.
It’s a good idea to fly into Brasilia first and then catch a domestic flight into Teresina. The roundtrip flight starts at $270 and this low fare is offered by TAM Linhas Aereas. It’s slightly more expensive (roundtrip flight starting at $300) to fly into Teresina from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
To save some money on airfare, you should look for airfare into the three large cities and figure out which is cheaper to fly into from abroad (typically flying into Brasilia is the cheapest alternative). Also, make sure to fly during the weekdays and unless you want to spend time on the beach, you should avoid the high season (June to November) as well. Book your ticket in advance.
