Hotels in Acapulco

Here are some economical hotels in Acapulco. There are, of course, hundreds of others because tourism is Acapulco's ONLY industry. If you want more hotels, or more information, let me know.

Hotels near the center of old Acapulco:

Hotel Añorve (just west of the Zócalo)
Benito Juárez #17
482-3262 and 482-3051

Hotel Sevillano (behind La Comercial Centro)
Tadeo Arredondo #7
483-8358 and 483-8359

Hotel Mary (across from El Parazal market)
Velazquez de Leon #34
482-3307 and fax 483-5271

Hotel Misión (west of Zócalo)
Felipe Valle #12-c
482-3643 and fax 482-2076

Hotel La Posada
Teniente Azueta
483-1930

Airport
Several luxury hotels - the Fairmont Princess, the Mayan Palace, and the Fairmont Pierre Marqués are near the airport but transportation into Acapulco is expensive. As you enter the bay area from the airport, you pass another luxury hotel, Las Brisas. It has an excellent view of the Bay, but unfortunately lacks any direct access to the sea.

East
Three very good hotels near the Convention Center are the Hyatt, the Elcano and the Copacabana, all of which have wide, clean beaches and great pools. The Continental (formerly Acapulco Hilton) is right at Diana Circle and is also very good.

Central
Nearer the center of the City, and somewhat less expensive, are the Hotel Costa Club and the Paraíso Las Glorias (which used to be the Marriott). The Hotel Bali Hai, across the Costera from the Costa Club is a two story motel built around a good sized patio. Good choice if you're driving because you can park just outside your room. Good beach only a block away.

The Hacienda María Eugenia, on the Costera across from the Continental, has just been completely redecorated in the colonial style.

Downtown
The Marina Hotel, between the Zócalo and Caleta, has bungalows set in lovely gardens. No beach, but great facilities and a reasonable price in a good location. Good choice if you're ariving by car. Plenty of off-street parking.

Economical
There are dozens of inexpensive hotels near the Zócalo and Caleta Beach: Enrique's, near the CROM; the Añorve, one block away from the beach; and La Misión, which used to be the American Consulate and boasts a really nice patio, are only three examples. Hotel San Francisco, on the Costera near Playa Langosta, usually has double rooms for US$20 per night.

Hotel Mary faces the Parazal market right in the middle of old Acapulco. Go north from Sanborn's past Woolworth one block and turn right on 'Cinco de Mayo' street. Take the first left and then the first right - "Farmacia Moderna" is on the corner on your right. The Parazal market is on your left; Hotel Mary is just a little farther, on your left, at Velazquez de Leon #24.
Telephone (7) 482-3307

These directions also serve to get to the Parazal market, which is the closest to the Zócalo.
