Getting in and out of town

Air

Airlines include: Horizon Air, America West Express, United Airlines
Directions from Downtown Eugene via West 11th: From downtown Eugene take 11th Avenue west approximately 5 miles. Turn right at the traffic signal on Green Hill Road. Continue north on Green Hill Road about 4 miles. Follow the signs to the terminal. Web site: www.eugeneairport.com.

Rail
Amtrak: 433 Willamette, +1 (541) 687 1383 or (1-800) 872 7254 (U.S. only)
The USA Rail Pass allows travelers, both national and international to explore the country at an affordable price. Passes are valid for 15 or 30 days. Seniors and students receive a 10% discount. Web site: www.amtrak.com.

Bus
Greyhound: One of the most efficient and inexpensive ways to travel in and out of town is via the Greyhound bus. Students and senior citizens qualify for 15% off fares with an advantage card that costs $20 including shipping and handling. Be sure to check out the Friendly Fares and the Companion Fares on the website: www.greyhound.com.

Getting around town

Bus
One of the most efficient and environmentally friendly ways to travel in Eugene is by bus. To accommodate those with transportation needs, the Lane Transit District (LTD) runs daily throughout the greater Eugene/Springfield area.

Daily rates: adults (19-61), $1.25; youth (5-18) and seniors (62-79), $.60
Monthly bus pass: adults, $28; youth & seniors, $14
UO students: FREE!

Hours
Monday-Friday: 6 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Saturdays & Sundays: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Bikes
For those that are more fitness-oriented seeking transportation, biking is always an option. There are several places in town that rent bikes daily and weekly at substantially low rates ($12 per day; $60 per week).

Whether rolling or strolling around town, a good map is relatively cheap and will help you find your way. Here's a breakdown of where to find local maps.

Taxis
If you're planning a night out on the town and need transportation, taking a taxi in Eugene is always a relatively cheap and efficient way to travel. Most companies charge a sitting fee of $2.50 plus $1.75 per mile. Students and seniors usually get discounts of 10% off. If arrangements are made in advance, there is usually a 20% discount for those going to and from the airport.
