- On Labour Day weekend, the Inner Harbour is a forest of spruce masts and wooden bulwarks as the Times Colonist and the Victoria Real Estate Board present the Classic Boat Festival
- Over 100 boats, all built before 1955, line the docks for a maritime open house
- Special events include the sail past and the Sunday schooner race

3RD ANNUAL VANCOUVER ISLAND WINE FESTIVAL

- September 7: Wine train leaves Victoria at 8:15 am. Champagne brunch on the train. Welcoming speeches given by VIVA president, Mayor of Duncan, and the Town Crier. After the presentations shuttle buses will tour the wine country of the Cowichan Valley. You are also welcome to tour using your own transportation. Maps are available.
- Grape Stomp/Cook Off: These two events take place at the City Hall square in Duncan. Twenty teams will be involved.
- Consumer Tasting: A public tasting of Island wines at the Cowichan Golf and Country Club beginning at 7:30 pm - Price $25.00
- Saturday September 8: Wine Touring, take the shuttle bus from the Train Station in Duncan, or self-guide your tour. Wine Festival Dinner that night. This is an informal feast with music and of course, all Island wineries will be there. Price to be announced.
- Sunday, September 9: 9am to 11am - Cherry Point Vineyards host a Rotary Club pancake breakfast.
