RTW TRAVELER PROFILES - Jo Malcolm
Jo is taking a one-to-two year hiatus from her profession in the health industry and leaving Perth, Western Australia to head to South America, North America, the Middle East, Europe and SE Asia. She plans on working in the UK to replenish her bank account while she's on the road.
Jo says she is going now because there are no huge ties keeping her in Perth. As she put it, "No boyfriend, no debt, enough experience in a job to leave it and go while I can still get a UK work visa!" She embarks on her RTW adventure this month.
Read more about Jo's plans here.
If you're planning your own RTW trip, you'll find plenty of answers to your travel questions, and can read tips and profiles from other round the world travelers.

BOOTSNALL IN BALI
The two-year anniversary of the Bali nightclub bombing occurred last week and Nick attended the commemorative ceremonies. A number of events took place to remember the more than 200 people killed in the blasts of October 2002. Nick also managed to tick a few people off with his perspective. Read the wordfight here.
Nick has added a number of hotel reviews to the site, including a few last week.

Am I too old now?
Philip Blazdell doesn't like hostels, prefers fine wines and good food to camp fire chow, has never worried about IPODS (or stuff like that) and needs a good night's sleep to function correctly the next day. Is he too old for "independent" travel?
Ruminations on why do we go back home?
Rogerio asks, if it wasn't for financial reasons, would you have gone back home from your last trip?
Sean Keener for President!!
Socalgirl thinks Sean should be the new president of the good ol' USA. What do you think? And who would be in his cabinet?
As a student, how are you funding your travel?
How can you afford school and travel?
TRIP OF THE MONTH - TANZANIA
Kilimanjaro. Serengeti. Zanzibar. These fabled, somewhat exotic, destinations sit in perhaps one of Africa's most famous, laid-back, country, Tanzania. The beauty of Tanzania, and these destinations, is their location to each other. Within a limited time, you can climb the highest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, safari in the Serengeti (home to some of the largest concentrations of animals anywhere on the planet), and finally end your time relaxing on the beaches of the exotic spice island of Zanzibar - all within a period of two to three weeks.
BootsnAll World Adventures has new affordable trips to Tanzania. Instead of spending your New Years at home, think about spending it at the top of Africa or out with a Landrover in the middle of the bush. This December, January and February are the best months. Email Donovan at donovan@bootsnall.com for more information.
