RTW TRAVELER PROFILES - Linh Altork
Self-described "dot com victim" Linh Altork has broken out of her cubicle! This 33-year-old American left for a 1-2 year round-the-world journey last month to check out Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe and Pacific Islands. Her reasons for taking off now? She had planned to visiting a foreign country every year until she died, but with her egss expiring and her advanced case of wanderlust, the thought of dragging kids along everywhere she went seemed less than appealing. Lihn wants to "experience the interaction of societies around the world because people are such fascinating creatures."
Linh's crossing her fingers and hoping that this trip will give her more patience, especially when she driving a car. "After all," she says, "slow drivers in the passing lane couldn't be slower than a camel caravan." She advises that when planning your RTW trip, "read other people's experiences, take the sum of all their hints and tips, divide by 100 and you got yourself a formula! Keep peoples' advice in the back of your mind so you're aware, but don't let the anxiety about all the things that could go wrong ruin your trip before it's started. And if you could keep your mind open to all possibilities, then you can't be disappointed."

If you're planning your own RTW trip, you'll find plenty of answers to your travel questions, and can read tips and profiles from other round the world travelers.

BOOTSNALL IN BALI
Nick continues to gallivant around Bali, this time exploring with his partner-in-crime, Barrie. They recently checked out Seraya Shores in SE Bali after visiting Tenganan. Barrie lamented that the town's modernisation had stripped away some of its charm although Nick had other insights regarding the trip.
The duo, along with Barrie's wife Candika, have also ventured off to see some temples like Pura Rambut Siwi. Barrie, aka The Wombat, has kept himself busy writing numerous restaurant reviews. Nick has also enjoyed greeting travelers like Jeff and Celeste from Portland.
