1. Australia Student Visa
The Australian student visa (tier 4 study visa) allows you to study and work once you are studying for at least 6 months and are offered a place in an Australian educational institute. If your course is under 6 months you may instead enter the UK on a visitor visa however you will not be able to work in this case on the visitor visa. 2. Australian Bank Account
You will need an Australian bank account in order to work in Australia. Your bank account will be open in just 4-5 days. Apply now »

3. Australian tax file number
To start working and getting paid in Australia, you’ll need an Australian tax file number. Without it you will have to pay emergency tax at the emergency rate of 48%. By having it organised before you arrive you will only be on a tax band of 29%.
