Channel Islands
These five small islands, off the Normandy Coast in France, are technically part of England, being one of the last true feudal states. The Channel Islands have their own currenty, taxes, and have retained their own true distinct character. If you are ready to escape England’s awful food, like Bangers and Mash, the Channel Islands are known for good cuisine, great festivals, flowers and surfing. Head to the smaller islands if you want to take a step way back in time.
